For this DAO Talk Interview, we are joined by Jango from Juicebox, a programmable treasury for community-owned Ethereum projects.
Back in 2017, Jango was building some small apps and widgets with friends, working a normal full time job to sustain himself, and happened to be rooming with a friend who worked at Coinbase. For this DAO Talk Interview, we are joined by Astha Gupta, Tommy Olofsson, and Marco Grendel from PolygonDAO, an organization aiming to decentralize, grow and innovate the Polygon community.
Like many DAOs, PolygonDAO is currently focused on progressively decentralizing many parts of Polygon’s ecosystem, from development to governance. But where they stand apart is in their approach. Instead of relying on tokens, Polygon is creating a reputation layer and sovereign identity solution known as Polygon ID that will be leveraged by users for governance and other activities that require personal identification.
In addition to Polygon ID, PolygonDAO acts as an end-to-end support system for early stage projects joining the space. They provide grants, technical support, networking, job boards, and more in order to onboard and support projects on the chain.
Turning away from PolygonDAO specifically, we discuss the pros and cons of crypto’s always-on nature, what needs to be done to make crypto more user friendly, and the draw of constant challenge. We also touch on DAO tooling, work-life balance, and the squad tells us about their favorite places in the world.

Aleks Larsen is a general partner at Blockchain Capital, a leading venture firm in the blockchain industry.
After studying systems engineering in college, Aleks found himself at an investment bank in 2016 handling IPOs and M&A work. Shortly after entering the financial sector, he discovered crypto and began digging into it on his own time. He was not only curious about the wild volatility, but realized that the defi sector and its open nature was operating in stark contrast to the traditional financial world that he worked in.
Aleks spent the next 18 months or so doing more of his own research, getting involved in the defi community, and eventually found a spot at Blockchain Capital where he now runs the research and investment team. Blockchain Capital invests in everything across the crypto space, from protocols and scaling solutions to DAOs themselves.
During our conversation, Aleks tells us about how much the crypto world has changed since he entered it, how he’s watched the role of VCs evolve, and what still needs to be done for crypto to be ready for the mainstream. We also discuss the role of DAOs as the native structures for crypto communities and how they’re inherently linked to NFTs and defi. While he’s active in and bullish on DAOs, Aleks also gives us some thoughts on the problems DAOs still face and how they could operate more efficiently.
Before he leaves, Aleks also tells us about his favorite and least favorite aspects of crypto, as well as his favorite beach north of Copenhagen that you’ll have to go find for yourself.

Will Papper is the Co-Founder of Syndicate, a protocol building the investing infrastructure for web3. Will has been in the crypto space since 2013, grabbing some Eth during its presale, and even investing in the very first DAO - The DAO.
Will explains what investment DAOs are, how they work, and why they are so important. FIG is on the governance team at Flipside Crypto, a learn-to-earn platform committed to advancing the data insights available in the blockchain industry. He is also a reviewer at Aave Grants, a program that provides grants to projects, ideas, and events that benefit Aave and its ecosystem.

PridePunks is the first CryptoPunk derivative art project, created in 2018 by Tally’s own Dennison Bertram. In this interview, we are joined by Citizen Lev, who handles digital marketing at PridePunks, as well as Lizo, PridePunk’s admin and OG.
PridePunks may be a derivative, but it’s much more than that. With the mission statement of “representing underrepresented communities in web3,” PridePunks is creating a welcoming community for individuals from all walks of life to enter the web3 world. Their most recent mission? Becoming a DAO.
For PridePunks today, this mission consists of ensuring DAO members have a safe space in which to learn and create, finding the best ways to empower the community, and creating a token project to incentivize education.
During our discussion, we dive into the details of PridePunks DAO, we talk about the intellectual nature of web3, and we touch on how web3 is changing the world of digital advertising. We also discuss the positive and negative aspects of pseudonymity and what the near future holds for PridePunks.

Scott Moore is the co-founder of Gitcoin, a platform where communities come together to build and fund the open web.
Scott began his web3 journey back in 2015 after making the jump from the web2 tech space. He found his way into the budding crypto space in Toronto and hasn’t looked back since.

Shreyas is the co-founder of Llama, a community that works with DAOs on protocol engineering, treasury allocation, and analytics.
Shreyas first got into crypto back in 2016 after learning about Bitcoin in college, and learned about Ethereum shortly after. With a longtime interest in economics and entrepreneurship, he quickly became attracted to the crypto space and its community-owned, open source nature. After lurking in forums and other DAO spaces for a while, Shreyas took the full web3 leap by building the original version of Llama for an ETHGlobal hackathon.
Shreyas explains the ever-expanding nature of crypto and why it’s so exciting, his views on the future of the US dollar, and the current (weird) state of the economy. We also touch on the constant hopium and copium cycles that the industry sees.
Turning to Llama, Shreyas tells us about their goal of building out economic infrastructure for DAOs and how they’re going about it. Llama is creating on-chain solutions for DAOs to allocate their treasuries, find liquidity for their native tokens, and other much needed financial services. With a strong list of collaborators, including Aave, Uniswap, Gitcoin, and FWB, Llama is already playing a big part in advancing the economic output of the entire DAO space.
Later in our conversation we dive into the power of DAOs to organize individuals on a global scale, token liquidity, incentivizing DAO contributors for the long term, and we give NounsDAO some well deserved love.

Parker is Head of Community at FinTech Collective and on the founding team of Boys Club - a DAO social club that welcomes and onboards women and non-binary individuals to web3. With a longtime interest in systems of power and a background in tech and product management, Parker found her way into web3 after realizing blockchain’s potential to reinvent all of those fields.
Parker begins our conversation by giving some background into systems of power and explaining how blockchain is not just disrupting many of these legacy systems, but offering true fundamental alternatives. We also discuss how the open nature of web3 is allowing previously excluded groups and individuals to get in on the ground floor of this new wave of tech.
