The movie was just too big for one film. According to producer David Heyman, the work print of the movie was at five and a half hours long, and the shooting script was close to five hundred pages! That's why they decided to split the movie into two parts. Can you imagine watching a five and a half hour Harry Potter movie? That's a lot of magic and adventure! But thanks to the decision to split the film into two parts, we got to fully experience the epic conclusion of Harry's story.
