In a recent announcement, the tech giant revealed AI technology - known as ‘Apple Intelligence’ - will be coming in free software updates later this year, with CEO Tim Cook stating it’s the “next big step for Apple.”
According to AP, Apple is “leaning on ChatGPT” to make “Siri smarter and more helpful”.
Siri will reportedly be able to handle “hundreds more tasks” than it can now, including those that require tapping into third-party devices.
The AI update also includes the ability to create emojis known as ‘Genmojis’ on the go.
However, Apple’s full suite of upcoming features will only work on more recent models of the iPhone and iPad, but will work on Macs dating back to 2020. The company states this is due to the amount of computing power Apple Intelligence needs to run.
