Stock Market Today | January 26, 2021
Here's what happened in the markets today, Tuesday, January 26th -- in 5 minutes or less.
Stocks finished down today, turning lower in the last few minutes of the session.

The Dow fell 0.07% for its fourth straight loss. The S&P 500 closed down 0.1%, and the Nasdaq is flat.
But, there was just some choppy trading today.
There were some individual stocks that made big moves.
Check out Etsy (ETSY). It was up more than 8% at a new high earlier after Elon Musk tweeted “I kinda love Etsy.” But the stock couldn’t hold onto these gains and ended up closing down 2.1% at $204.41.
Beyond Meat (BYND) skyrocketed, closing up 17.7% after it signed a deal with Pepsi (PEP). The two will work together to make snacks and beverages made from plant-based protein. PEP added 1.2%.
Workhorse (WKHS) was another big winner today. The stock closed up 30.2% and hit a new high after President Biden signed a “Buy America” executive order yesterday.
Biden said the federal government plans to replace its current fleet of vehicles with clean energy ones that are made in the U.S.
Workhorse is based in Ohio and makes clean energy delivery vehicles.

But the stock continued to be volatile today. The stock jumped 92.6% to close at $147.98.
So, what’s in store for the rest of this week?
Earnings, earnings, earnings!
Earnings from Apple, Tesla, and Facebook will be released tomorrow. Microsoft (MSFT) and AMD (AMD) reported earnings after today’s close: MSFT is up 4.8% and AMD is down 0.5%
On the economic calendar, we have the FOMC meeting minutes tomorrow. I don’t expect any surprises here, but let’s see what they say.
