During our one day visit in Busan Korea, we visited the amazing Jagalchi fish market (자갈치시장 ). This is one of the top seafood markets in the world, if not the best according to many, so we did not want to miss it. The market itself, plus the nearby stalls nearby the main Jagalchi building are just filled with incredibly fresh live seafood. We certainly wish there is something like this market nearby where we live in the USA, even just 2 or 3 of those stalls, lol. So the people in Busan are very lucky indeed to have access to such an assortment of live seafood.

Some of the seafood we saw (and recognize) include giant prawns (largest we have ever seen), lobsters, skinned eel, scallops, large clams, various fish, octopus, squid, shrimp, giant snow crab, live abalone, sea cucumber, and numerous others we could not identify, lol.

The second floor of Jagalchi had dried fish and other dried seafood products, plus several restaurants. We had a shrimp and clam seafood hot pot. It was about $30, and we were able to pay using credit card. The clams were meaty and super fresh. It was supposed to be spicy, but we asked for it to be mild.

If you are ever on a tour in Busan, Jagalchi seafood market is a must visit. We got there pretty easily from the Busan Cruise Terminal. First we took the free shuttle from port (see our video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRCIpDqVMu8 ) to the metro station #113. Then we took a ride from there to #110 Jagalchi- only about a 10 minute subway ride. You can purchase Busan metro tickets for just around $5 per person USD with unlimited trips in one day.

We also got to try some Busan street food, including some very tasty Korean pastry for breakfast.

Enjoy and please feel free to comment or ask any questions! This was part of our March 2018 Asia cruise aboard the Majestic Princess cruise ship.
